Cyber Resilience Advisor - Financial Services

Security, Consultancy, Regulatory Compliance
Professional, Freelancer

Do you have extensive experience leading and shaping cybersecurity within the financial sector, and are you ready to apply that expertise across a range of organizations? As a Cyber Resilience Advisor part of our Cyber Resilience and Assurance team, you act as a strategic partner to CISOs, CIOs, risk leaders, and senior management within financial institutions. You combine deep cybersecurity expertise with a strong understanding of regulation, governance, and business risk, helping clients translate complex challenges into well-informed decisions, clear priorities, and sustainable cyber resilience.

  • Build senior customer relationships and advise executives, security leaders and business stakeholders in financial institutions on cyber resilience, governance, risk and compliance.
  • Assess security posture and maturity, perform risk and compliance gap analyses, and turn findings into prioritised, business-aligned roadmaps.
  • Further develop deep knowledge of the financial industry, including regulations, critical assets, technology environments and evolving cyber risks.
  • Lead advisory engagements using a structured consulting approach: frame the problem, gather and analyse evidence, develop options, align stakeholders and deliver actionable recommendations.
  • Identify customer needs early and shape high-value advisory opportunities, workshops and offers with Industry, Product Management, Presales and delivery teams.
  • Act as a design authority for *ºÚÁÏÉç’s Cyber Security Assessment Framework, ensuring consistent methods and quality while guiding delivery teams.
  • Develop security strategies, governance models, policies, standards, target operating models and executive decision materials.
  • Improve reusable advisory assets and quality practices, coach colleagues, share knowledge and monitor market, regulatory and threat developments.

What you need to succeed:

  • Substantial experience in cybersecurity advisory, GRC, security program management or a related consulting discipline, with senior-level credibility.
  • A solid understanding of the cybersecurity challenges, regulatory requirements, and risk landscape within the financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of recognised frameworks and standards such as DORA, NIS2, ISO/IEC 27001, EBA guidelines, NIST CSF, CIS Controls and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting assessments, engaging senior stakeholders and producing concise, evidence-based and actionable recommendations.
  • A disciplined consulting mindset: curious, analytical, objective and collaborative, with sound judgement and a focus on measurable customer value.
  • Excellent written, communication and presentation skills in English; additional languages relevant to assigned markets are an asset.
  • Relevant higher education or equivalent professional experience; certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Lead Auditor are an advantage.
